Meet the Founder

Dr. Karen Wade

Dr. Karen Wade

Hi, I’m Karen Wade.  I created my company, The Long View Partnership, to help people and companies to turn transitions into opportunities.

The key is in the people.

Only the prepared can maximize the opportunity presented by a transition. I prepare leaders by strengthening their foundation of self-awareness and self-knowledge. In fact, my clients say that a great value I bring to them comes from being their mirror, allowing them to see themselves as others see them. This view takes courage, but it is richly rewarded with greatly increased effectiveness and fulfillment.

Karen L. Wade, Ph.D.

The founder of the Long View Partnership, Dr. Karen Wade, is a psychologist, speaker, and consultant specializing in the practice of resilience training and adaptive transformation.  Throughout her career she has refined her expertise in aiding individuals to build the skills and reflexes necessary to successfully navigate roles of increased responsibility.

Known as an effective public speaker, trainer, and process facilitator, Karen’s mature and insightful assessment, coaching, and consulting-advising skills have brought her clients in Fortune 10 companies, global non-profits and the Senior Executive Service of the federal government. Her diverse experience has honed her ability to increase an organization’s  or an individual’s capacity for effective leadership in complex and shifting contexts.

While at RHR she coached executives and executive teams in the midst of challenging transitions in the health care, pharmaceutical, financial services, and technology industries as well as leaders in federal government agencies and global, not-for-profits.  Karen began her career as a nurse, in roles that included providing direct patient care, designing/implementing enhancements in nursing care service delivery, coordinating interdisciplinary patient care planning teams, inserting programmatic innovations into health care systems and consulting to hospital administrations on policy changes. She worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Latin American initiatives in women’s and children’s health, including collaboration with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and other international non-governmental organizations. She was the founding director of ChildStrength, a child abuse prevention/treatment research center affiliated with Children’s Bureau of Southern California. Dr. Wade was adjunct faculty at the University of Redlands (CA) and at UCLA Extension in programs directed toward the continuing education of health professionals.
